Cardigan Captain, Keith Lewis was unable to lead his team (undergoing a small op) but the Vice Captain Ken Hadley and ex-Captain Ken Evans, did him proud taking us to the 18th to clinch the win. (Could have halved had we got the last putt). – Dave Newman (back on form) and partner Chris Palmer won their match with an impressive 6 & 4. Also a 4 & 3 win from Meirion Evans & Winston John (I said he would get a mention in despatches). Well-done Winston.
Looking at the Team Sheet we appeared to be evenly matched with the exception perhaps of Len & Derek, last pair out, and their opponents the two Mike’s, one with a handicap of 10 (Derek maintained he wasn’t the problem) took the lead and finished
5 & 4. Overall everyone enjoyed the day (a bit too warm for me) even though we lost 5 & 2 it was closer than the score conveys.
The after match meal and the cold liquid refreshment was well appreciated. Our return match is two weeks time, 9th July, and looking forward to it!
